Wildfire safety
California faces a continued and growing threat of extreme weather and wildfires. PG&E’s goal is to reduce wildfire risks and keep our customers and the communities we serve safe.
Find high-fire threat areas
The California Public Utilities Commission (CPUC), worked with CAL FIRE and other utility and public safety experts to develop a High Fire-Threat District Map. The map identifies areas that have the highest likelihood of a wildfire impacting people and property, and where additional action may be necessary to reduce wild fire risk

Be ready to go
When evacuation is necessary, your family emergency plan should be ready and emergency kit already stored in your vehicleReturn only when it is safe
Do not go back to your property until officials say it is safe to do so. Even after a fire is extinguished, small fires can flare up without warning.Follow gas outage guidelines
If your gas is shut off during the evacuation, DO NOT turn it back on. Contact PG&E or another qualified professional to perform a safety inspection before the gas service is restored and the gas appliance pilots are re-lit.
